Flashback 2014: Newcomers take the road less travelled in Bollywood





New Delhi: Choosing unconventional films minus any glamour and 'masala' worked in the favour of newcomers like Tahir Raj Bhasin, Patralekha and Darshan Kumar, who impressed the audience and critics alike with their debut performances this year.
Most debutantes in 2014 broke the norm of making the big-budget, lavish entry into Bollywood and rather let their acting chops do all the talking.

Tahir Bhasin may be arguably called the dark horse of the 2014 lot as he surprised everyone with his effortlessly- cool antagonist act in Mardaani as a young and ruthless mafia kingpin. At 27, the actor held his own in presence of Rani Mukerji. His act is also regarded as one of the best negative performances of the year.

PK inches closer to the 100 crore markโ€ฆ




 Aamir Khan’s magnum opus PK that released in around 6000 screens worldwide last week minted a sum of Rs. 26.63 crore on its opening day. And as expected the weekend proved to be fruitful for the film as it managed to bank Rs. 30.34 crore and Rs. 36.40 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively. But given the hype and buzz PK had created, the collections were a tad bit underwhelming as the film didn’t succeed in breaking the first day or first weekend collections of blockbusters like Dhoom 3 and Happy New Year.

























After an excellent first day, the occupancy grew by 15% on day 2. And even though the morning shows lagged behind, the film soon gained momentum as the day progressed and witnessed houseful shows in the evening and at night. On Sunday, the occupancy grew stronger by 20% and according to reports was 70% overall. According to on going reports, the film was stronger in the multiplex circuit as compared to that of the single screens.

So far, the positive reviews and the curiosity factor that surrounds every Aamir Khan film has worked wonders for PK as the film has banked a total domestic collection of Rs. 93.37 crore in 3 days from its release. And from the looks of it, PK is all set for a great week ahead and will soon cross the 100 crore mark.

Is Sonakshi jealous of Sonam Kapoor?






New Delhi: The latest buzz in the B-Town goes rounds that the Dabangg girl of Bollywood Sonakshi Sinha is not liking the attention Sonam Kapoor is enjoying.
 It's not the present nip in the air that is affecting Sonam and Sonakshi, but the cold vibes between them.

While, the Khan-daan is all geared up for Arbaaz Khan's upcoming production Dolly Ki Doli starring Sonam, Sona is feeling the heat.

Earlier it was reported that there was an unpleasant exchange of words between Salman and Sonakshi, at Arpita Khan's wedding which made the actress cry.
The rumour is that 'all is not well' between Salman and Sonakshi ever since she turned down Arbaaz Khan’s offer to star in ‘Dolly Ki Doli’, which now has Sonam Kapoor in the lead.

While most stars are welcoming the Dolly on social media, Sona prefers to remain silent.

Adding to it is the buzz about Sonam and Salman in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Sona is Khan’s Dabangg girl and now that everyone is showering attention on Sonam, apparently Sona is not liking it.
